Our Weather Policy
In the event that hazardous/impassable roadway conditions, natural disaster events (floods, ice storms, etc.) occur that may prevent MCSA from performing their regularly scheduled services it is the policy of MCSA to cancel collection services for the time that roadways continue to remain impassable. Any or all scheduled collection days affected by the route cancellation will be passed over until the next regular scheduled collection day on the following week. There will be no scheduled make-up day for those routes canceled. It is not the practice of MCSA to make cancellation decisions lightly. Safety for all persons on the roadways whether it may be the MCSA workers or the general public as a whole, is our utmost concern. Since all solid waste (no bulk items) will be collected, MCSA will not reduce the solid waste bill for suspension of service. If it becomes necessary to cancel collection services and your City/Town is affected by this decision, MCSA management will contact the City/Town hall as soon as they open.
In the event that the roadways remain impassable and causes a Town/City to be passed over for trash collection a 2nd time, then it will be the policy of MCSA (weather permitting) to run the routes for those Town’s/City’s missed starting the 1st day roads become passable. Those missed will be worked in during the work week. MCSA will notify those Town’s/City’s affected and inform them of the pick-up changes.
